Environmentally friendly #ecotips during #CircuitBreaker

Since the 7th April, the government has extended their measures to curb the escalating infections rates, and mandated that people should stay at home, until the 4th May. In light of this, essential services such as food and beverages are still open to public. If you are someone who likes to dabao food and drinks back home during this period, here are some #ecotips that you can practice during this period.

1. Bring a reusable container when you are headed to a hawker center.

If you have a reusuable container during this time, bravo and kudos to you! You've already done with step 1! By bringing in reusable containers during this period, you're also helping all these small hawker store reduce their overheads (a little goes a long way friend!) when you dabao. If you havn't, we have the Collapsible Bowls available! Comes in a variety of colours, these silicon based bowls are lightweight (just 250g), microwave safe, and can store 1 liters, perfect for almost any kind of takeaway foods (we tried fish soup and it fits in nicely). More importantly, it's collapsible - meaning you can carry it everywhere without that weird buldge that traditional containers have when you have in it a bag.

2. Have a favourite beverage? Use a reuseable straw!

Let me get you in with a secret - I love my Iced Kopi-O without sugar (can't get fat during this period!) and if I had to make a guess on how much plastic straws that I've been using since I started drinking Kopi-O, I would say it's about 3000 plastic straws. That figure is pretty nasty if the entire population was like me. Fun fact - a survey found that Singaporeans use close to 22 million plastic straws every single day. Switch over to bamboo straws! It's biodegradable, all-natural and reuseable for up to a year. Once the lifespan is up, use it as a compost fertiliser if you have plants! Done!

3. Leftover food? Use a Beeswax!

If you have left over food back at home, it's really convenient to just cling wrap and then take it out of the fridge to warm it up. Up your #reduceplasticwaste game with our Beeswax Wrap. Our Beeswax Wraps are made using beeswax, organic coconut oil and pine tree resin on organic cotton fabric. Replace plastic in your kitchen with these 100% plastic free, sustainable, non-toxic and environmentally friendly reuseable alternative.

Reusable food wraps may be utilised just like a plastic wrap, snap lock bags, and plastic bags. These darlings are not only perfect for storing food in the fridge or on the go, they seal your food with freshness!
